Catalina Foothills – School District 16

School District 16 is located in the Catalina Foothills and is a census-designated place (CDP) located north of Tucson in Pima County, Arizona, USA. Situated in the southern foothills of the Santa Catalina Mountains, Catalina Foothills had a total population of 53,794 as of the 2000 census.

Catalina Foothills is among the wealthiest communities in Arizona, with the 5th highest per capita income. Home styles and prices vary widely based on the specific locations within the "foothills". Ventana Canyon Resort and the Westin La Paloma are two nationally recognized resort destinations of Tucson; both are located in the foothills. Continental Ranch

Continental Ranch is a Master Planned Community located in the Town of Marana in Northwest Tucson. Situated approximately 30 minutes from downtown Tucson, Continental Ranch - along with other subdivisions in Marana - benefit from the ease of access to the City and surrounding areas due to its proximity to the I 10 freeways.

Dove Mountain

Located approximately 20 Northwest of Central Tucson, Dove Mountain is an area with a rich history and many contrasts. Dove Mountain and the Town of Marana in which it located, has become one the faster growing residential areas in recent years, but its history dates back as far as 300 B.C.

Gladden Farms

A new community located in the Northern area of The Town of Marana provides many neighborhoods each with its own unique character.  Spacious grass areas abound along with playgrounds and miles of trails for biking and hiking. Heritage Highlands

Heritage Highlands is an age restricted gated community located in the Dove Mountain area in the Town of Marana. It is one of Tucson's premier retirement communities with golf, tennis, swimming and a large "active" community center with its own restaurant.

Located about 30 minutes north of Tucson and 90 minutes from the Phoenix airport it provides the full time retirees or winter residence a great location to enjoy all the amenities of desert living. Oro Valley

The Oro Valley area has been inhabited discontinuously for nearly two thousand years by various groups of people. The Hokokam tribe lived in the Honeybee Village located in the foothills of the Tortolita Mountains on the far north side of Oro Valley around around 500 A.D.

Hohokam artifacts continue to be discovered in the Honeybee Village that the Hohokam inhabited continuously for nearly 700 years. Rita Ranch

Rita Ranch is a Master Planned Community located in the foothills of the Santa Rita Mountains in southeast Tucson. MAP Rita Ranch is a friendly community with several smaller neighborhood parks and one large community park called Purple Heart Park which is 36 acres and provides playing fields, playground equipment, a one-mile walking path, a skate park, picnic tables, barbeque grills and ramadas as well as a swimming pool.

Vail

Vail is a fast growing community in the Southeast area of Tucson - MAP. Vail was named after ranchers Edward and Walter Vail.

Vail was Christened as a town in 1893, but has no legal boundary. It is part of unincorporated Pima County. Because of the proximity with Tucson, Vail may well become a suburb within the city limits of Tucson in the future.

Vail is one of the fastest growing areas in Arizona. The current population is over 20,000 people, but it is estimated that this will increase to 275,000 people over the next 20 years.
