Pena Blanca Lake is in the Coronado National Forest and provides a Boat Ramp, Fishing Pier, Campground area for 25 to 30 spots and areas of picnics. Note that only electric boat motors are allowed.
On summer weekends the lake can be quite busy. Also, a valid Arizona fishing license and trout stamp is required for all anglers 14 years of age and older. Six trout is the daily bag limit and the possession limit. Using live bait fish is prohibited.
Pena Blanca Lake is 4,000 feet above sea level. Accordingly, winter visitors should be prepared for some cool – if not down right – cold weather.
For those interested in the fishing, Pena Blanca Lake has Crappie, Catfish, Bass and Rainbows. There may even be some “lunker-size” large mouth bass to be taken.
