Arizona National – 520-749-3519 – Tucson Golf Homes for Sale at Arizona National
Robert Trent Jones, Jr. created Arizona National in 1995. The Catalina foothills provide panoramic views of Tucson. And in the distance the Tucson mountains.
The golf course follows the rugged natural flow of the land. Golfers play across shady mesquite-lined arroyos and skirts craggy rock outcroppings. Beautiful, but an immediate double bogey if you hit into them.
Arizona National Golf Club’s diverse 6,785 yard layout makes good decisions a must. There are many classic golf-in-the-desert challenges. Yet, it has the flexibility to do so without ever becoming unfair.
A Tucson Golf Home will have some spectacular scenery. Golfers will talk about mountain vistas and giant saguaros long after completing their round.

Robert Bruce Harris, noted golf course architect, design this championship golf course. The course was a focal point for the property developed by the Landon group. The course opened on December 28, 1958.
Oro Valley Country Club Inc. was formed in June 1959. Member ownership of the Club was not accomplished until February 15, 1961. The golf course, clubhouse, pro shop, swimming pool and 235 home sites were part of the deal. And the Oro Valley Water Company franchise.
Renovation of the golf course began in the summer of 1987. Keith Foster of the Arthur Hill Company did the redesign. The redesign included creating a retention lake that runs down the left side of the 18th fairway.

The Desert – Beautiful But A Hazard
Vegetation and desert surroundings give the feel each hole is part of the landscape. Vistoso means “colorful views”. And there is plenty of scenery. The desert flora brings color to the desert with the Catalina and Tortolita mountains in the background.
The setting is spectacular, but very challenging. And no two holes are the same. the back nine is unique. Consisting or 3 par 3’s, 3 par 4’s and 3 par 5’s.
Many holes have mountain views as a backdrop to course. Greens are large and putts break to the Tucson valley floor.

And countless native trees — ironwood, mesquite and palo verde. Dotting the landscape were the yellow flowering brittlebush, purple verbena and desert lavender.
