History
Hughes Federal Credit Union was founded in 1952 to serve the financial needs of Hughes Aircraft Company staff members and their families in Tucson. Raytheon Missile Systems Company acquired Hughes Aircraft.
Hughes Federal Credit Union merged with Arizona Transportation Credit Union in 1992. Arizona Transportation Credit Union served Union Pacific Railroad employees and more than 400 others select employee groups in Phoenix and Tucson.
In 2001, Hughes Federal Credit Union received approval to service the underserved community in Tucson. This action expanded membership eligibility to anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school in Tucson AZ.
Hughes Federal Credit Union has more than 78,000 members from more than six-hundred employer groups. It has 6 locations in Tucson AZ and has over $760 million in assets.
