To almost no ones surprise, two key factors in selecting the best places to live where a lower cost of living and sunnier weather.
Other key factors were the affordability of housing and the economic climate. A realization for many baby boomers headed for retirement is the likelihood that they may need remain in the labor market after they retire. This is likely to be with another job or being self employed.
The the study suggests the improving economy and rising home prices are once again allowing baby boomers to sell their present home and the move to sunshine states. The ability to sell their home and head for places with solid economic climates, well priced homes and lower cost of living is a big factor noted by the NAR.
The NAR reviewed the top 100 metro areas looking at lower state taxes, solid job markets and trends of baby boomer relocation. These factors along with home inventories and affordability were used.

Tucson Arizona active adult communities such as SaddleBrooke and Del Webb at Dove Mountain are realizing these trends. Other top adult communities include Quail Creek in Green Valley AZ and SaddleBrooke Ranch in Oracle AZ.
Phoenix also offers adult communities with Sun City West and Pebble Creek being one of the largest in Arizona.
