House Cleaning Tips

Remove Stains: Cream of Tartar is a long-forgotten cleaning agent. Used with a little water or vinegar to lift even the most stubborn stains from grout, mildew, or even burner pans and casserole dishes. Cream of tartar is one of nature’s best bleaching agents.

Gardening Tips For June

Water: Adjust drip system to accommodate warming temps and monsoon season. Large established cacti and succulents will need supplemental watering every 5-6 weeks if monsoon rains have been scarce.

Fertilize: Fertilize citrus and succulents with cactus fertilizer every month during the warm season. (If using regular fertilizer, dilute to half strength).

Prune: Cut back mesquite and palo verde trees.

Protect: We’re into our hottest season. Cover citrus trunks to prevent sunburn damage. Drape sensitive plants with shade cloth to protect from sun damage.

Tucson Homes Newsletter April 2019 – Gardening Tip For May

May is the last month you can plant climate/heat-tolerant plants, shrubs, cacti, and trees before the summer heat really begins. The end of May fertilize your citrus and palm trees with appropriate fertilizer.

Always water before applying any fertilizer. Adjust drip system to come on early in the morning (5-6AM) and change schedule to water more often but not as much.

Tucson Golf Accenture Match Play

Tucson Golf Accenture Spot Lights the WGC Match Play

No Longer Played In Tucson

Tucson Golf Accenture Match playTucson Golf is highlighted each February. The Tucson golf Accenture Match Play tournament brings the WORLD’s top 64 golfer to Tucson Arizona. The venue for this Tucson golf event is the Golf Club at Dove Mountain. Dove Mountain is equal distance between Oro Valley and Marana, Arizona.

For those not familiar with Accenture, it is one of the largest consulting company in the world. This event supports Accenture’s world wide marketing. Accenture evolved from Anderson Consulting which was once part of the Arthur Anderson accounting firm.

This Tucson golf course is a Jack Nicklaus “signature” designed course. While it is likely to be played at around 7,200 yards, it measures 7,800 yards from the tips. So, players bring the “big” dog and let it hunt!

There are 27 holes at the golf course. The nine hole course segments are named – Saguaro, Tortolita and Wild Burro. Tucson Golf Accenture tournament play will be on the Saguaro (Front Nine) & Tortolita (Back Nine) course segments.

More On The Course And Event

Both the Saguaro and Tortolita courses are par 36. Both are long by most standards. Saguaro measures 3,894 yards and Tortolita is 3,955 yards. Players and spectators will enjoy – ok, maybe not the players – the Sonoran desert vistas and Tortolita mountain views.

This WGC event boosts a whopping $8.5 million payout. The winners share is around $1.2 million. Come enjoy this once a year event and see how the pros play the game.

Practice rounds are especially fun and it is relatively easy to get autographs and actually meet some of the players.

Dove Mountain has grown over the last 10 years. Dove Mountain has some outstanding communities and Tucson golf neighborhoods. Heritage Highlands is a Active Adult Community. The community recently changed is name to “The Highlands at Dove Mountain”. The Highlands has its own golf course, swimming pool, tennis courts, fitness center and dining.

Dove Mountain also provides luxury living at its finest. The Gallery Golf Club is an outstanding Tucson Golf course with 36 holes of play. Luxury homes surround The Gallery and also found in some the nearby canyons. Canyon Pass being a major custom home development.
