Green Valley Recreation Centers

A benefit of owning a home in Green Valley is the Green Valley Recreation, Inc. This non-profit organization serves the leisure and social needs of the community. GVR operations include a Member Service Center and 13 recreation centers. GVR has over 13,000 households and an estimated 27,000 individuals members.

Membership is a deed restriction in perpetuity on the property. Cancellation of membership is not an option. GVR Membership passes from owner to owner as a property is sold.

Tubac is about 5 minutes south of Green Valley, AZ. It is one of the first towns settled in Arizona. With quaint artisan shops and interesting restaurants it a popular place to spend a quiet afternoon.

Green Valley Services

The Green Valley Fire District and Rural Metro provide fire protection in Green Valley. There are three fire stations providing fire and emergency medical services.

The Green Valley Hospital opened in 2015 to serve the medical needs of Green Valley. The hospital serves the adult population of the area. It has 50 acute care beds, 4 operating room, emergency room and full ancillary services.

Green Valley is still unincorporated. A “Coordinating Council” addresses community issues, growth and development.

Tucson Electric Power (TEP) has re-launched its tree-planting program, now called Trees for You. The revised program makes it even easier and more affordable to save energy by planting shade trees.  TEP customers can purchase up to three trees per year through the program for just $5- each – down from $8- last year. Fertilize: Established hibiscus, jasmine, roses and herbs with compost and fish emulsion.

Prune: After March 15th mature trees, shrubs, frost damaged plants, and bushes (bougainvillea).

Plant: Native trees, tomatoes & peppers, and seeds.
